Hauppauge TV Express /TV PCI-FM

The HauppaugeTV Express and TV PCI-FM bring live TV to your PC screen.

With a 125-channel receiver, you can watch TV in a resizable window or full screen. But that's not all! With HauppaugeTV Express / TV PCI-FM you can:

• Watch TV in a resizable window on your PC screen. While watching TV, HauppaugeTV Express / TV PCI-FM takes up no system resources, so you can surf the net without any loss of performance
• View advanced Teletext pages and use DDE (Dynamic Data Exchange) to export to spread sheets
• Connect external Video Devices such as a DVD player, Camcorder or Set-Top boxes.

The Hauppauge TV-Express/TV PCI-FM video digitizer is compatible with your favorite conferencing package such as: Microsoft NetMeeting, CU-SeeMe, Smith Micro's AudioVision, VDOnet, Connectix VideoPhone, Vocaltec's IPhone, Vivo and lots more. Simply add a video camera and one of these software packages to video conference over the phone lines or the internet.

Teletext

HauppaugeTV-Express / TV PCI-FM also have VTPlus Professional Teletext software. Save teletext pages to disk in graphics or text formats, or directly to your spreadsheet with VTPlus's active DDE links. Mulitple pages can be displayed on your VGA screen, along with subpages. VtPlus operates in a resizable window along-side the HauppaugeTV application.

Technical Specifications

Video Format

PAL video digitized using YUV 4:2:2 colour format at 50 fields per second. Maximum digitized image size: 768x576.

Video Clip Capture

Save continuous video at 320x240 at up to 30 frames per second. (Actual save capability is determined by the speed of the PC and the hard disk drive.) Creates Microsoft Video for Windows compatible AVI files in an uncompressed YUV format.

For use with video conferencing applications such as CU-SeeMe, VDOnet, VocalTec's IPhone, Connectix VideoPhone, Smith Micro's AudioVision, Vivo, etc., the frame rate is set by the video conferencing application and the video format used for digitizing. See chart below for digitizing formats supported and maximum frame rates.

Audio output

Unamplified "line-out." Output is through 1/8" female stereo jack. Line-out is compatible with "line-in" on most 8 and 16-bit sound cards and stereo systems or amplified speakers.

• Pull down menus - source select, channel select, image adjust (contrast,brightness, saturation, hue), options (remove title bar, remove toolbar, always-on-top, show size, aspect-ratio, etc.), save image.

• Channel surf - Quickly scans through the active channels on your TV network. Shows 16 channels in your HauppaugeTV window at a time.
