News from Blackmagic Design at NAB 2017

Fremont, CA - April 25, 2017 - With Day One of NAB 2017 kicking off, Blackmagic Design is making a number of significant announcements across our post production, broadcast and cinematography product ranges.

DaVinci Resolve 14 is the biggest release in the history of the product, and an update that has been designed to be more than an incremental software update, but a complete revolution in post production.

New features include up to 10 times performance improvement, a whole new audio post production suite with Fairlight audio built into DaVinci Resolve, and multi user collaboration tools that let multiple people edit, color and mix audio from multiple systems, all in the same project at the same time.

A public beta of DaVinci Resolve 14 will be available today and for immediate download from the Blackmagic Design website.

For our URSA Mini Pro camera customers, we are announcing a new open protocol that will allow customers to create their own remote control solutions via Bluetooth. We’re also announcing  Blackmagic Video Assist 2.4 update, which adds multi-lingual support for 10 separate languages. Also demonstrated at the NAB Show are powerful new professional scopes operating on the Video Assist 4K model, including waveform, RGB parade, vectorscope and histogram.

In terms of live production news, the ATEM Television Studio Pro HD, available in May, a broadcast quality all in one live production switcher with integrated hardware control panel designed for both broadcast and professional AV users. For capture and playback we are announcing the UltraStudio HD Mini, the world’s first portable Thunderbolt 3 capture and playback solution, which is specifically designed to enable customers to perform archiving, edit monitoring and live broadcast graphics task, while using the latest Thunderbolt 3 based computers for maximum performance.

We also have an update to the Duplicator 4K, which includes the addition of realtime H.264 encoding for maximum compatibility with existing HD televisions and computers. And, finally, a fantastic price reduction for Ultimatte 11, now available for US$9,995.
